Wigle Cemetery Survey

Lois (Wigle) Claspil, Wigle family descendent & Kizer-Wigle Family Historian, submitted a survey of this cemetery to the Genealogical Forum of Oregon Cemetery Reserach Committee in approx. 1958. She noted that "In 1852, thirty-three members of the Wigle family plus some hired hands left Adams Co., Ill. to travel by wagon train to Oregon. Several families settled on adjoining land in Linn County." Ms. Claspil also noted, regarding this cemetery, that "Forty some yrs ago, the Kizer branch of the Wigle family removed bodies of the Kizers buried there."
