Located between Gates and Mill City on south side of Santiam River. Originally called King's Prairie Burying Ground. Name changed to Fairview sometime between 1909 and 1912. Earliest burial was that of Martha Henness Miller, 1883.

According to Cheryl Smith Copeland's published history of the cemetery, some graves were moved from the old Gates Church to Fairview. Exact details are unknown, but the removals probably took place in the 1920s. Additionally, three graves were removed from Detroit to Fairview as a result of the Detroit Dam construction.
