Located on homestead of Rudolph Spring.

From "Sweet Home: In the Oregon Cascades" by M. Carey and P. Hainline:

"The Spring Cemetery is located on the old Hirschi place in the hills north of Foster Lake and Sunnyside. According to Ed Hirschi of Sweet Home, this cemetery was started during the 1890s before there was a bridge across that part of the Santiam River. In the wintertime when the river was too high to ford, the Sunnyside people buried their dead on their homesteads. The Gilliland Cemetery was used by people when they could get to it.

"Buried in the Spring Cemetery are Mr. Hirschi's great-grandmother, Mary Magdalena Spring, 1821-1890; Mary Nothiger Spring, 1874-1903; Rudolph Spring, 1862-1960; and John Jacob Spring, 1867-1890. The cemetery is fenced."
