Linn County contains six incorporated towns, as follows:  Albany, the county seat, Halsey, Harrisburg, Brownsville, Scio and Lebanon, besides a number of small but thriving villages, the most prominent of which are Tangent and Shedd Station, on the railroad, and Peoria, Crawfordsville and Sodaville.  The latter village is picturesquely situated among the hills about four miles east of Lebanon, and is a favorite summer resort for invalids and others on account of its mineral springs.
